Just some articles I’ve been reading this week.
- Coming to Terms with Long COVID - Deepa’s Story This page has a short comic about one person’s experience with LC. It also has a short, very useful list of resources at the bottom. I will be using this as an “on-ramp” for folks who are questioning whether they’ve ended up with LC. Appreciate the visual nature, plus the short length. Great for those with limited energy.
- A Win for the Disabled Community: Census Halts Disability Question Changes Finally, a win. Glad to see the advocacy here paid off. This would have been devastating for so many.
- Evolution Is a Human Right. That’s Why I Let Nature Guide My Transition Thinking a lot about change, as always. How our culture, social media, etc. ends up creating the expectation that we will all remain the same. That our opinions and thoughts and identities/existence aren’t allowed to grow and shift with time. Loved this one.
- Dividing Up the Autism Spectrum Will Not End the Way You Think Great explanation of why and how functioning labels cause harm - to the entire community. Not to mention, support needs change over time. “Profound” reeks of the same dehumanizing, eugenics-y thinking that Asperger’s came from. Not a fan.
